Video game developers
There are several reasons a video game developer should sign up to this website. The first, and most obvious, is that it's basically free publicity... That is to say, your game will show up on our main page under the most recent games added until 6 other games have been added to the site, any tester who you approve to test your game will have your game displayed on their profile page, the game will be displayed on your own profile page, and the game's profile page is pretty much a free ad.
Besides that, there are several other features that are useful to a video game developer. While your game's profile page can be updated with the latest news on the game for any viewer, you can also update the game's memos which all of the game testers will see so that they are kept in an even tighter information circle. You are able to upload documents for the testers to fill out and submit to you as part of the video game beta testing stage. You can add video game testers to your friends list so that you show up on their profile. And so much more. And just like the testers, the video game developer account is absolutely free. So sign up and begin posting your games for our testers to test!
Video games testing community
Our website is just as much a community site as it is a video games testing site. You can: play mini-games, and try to outscore your friends to win the trophy for each game; visit other gamers' profiles in order add others to your friends list; leave your friends a comment on their profile page; chat with other gamers and developers in the chat rooms; visit the forums and interact with the gaming community at large; and so much more. We have features being added normally, and take feature suggestions into consideration as well. So if you don't see a feature on this site that you would like to see, feel free to drop us a line to let us know. VGT-Admin
You won't see any changes until I am completely done, since I'm making all of the changes on my test server first. You will not have your forums profile anymore, since I am not using this forum setup, but I will be keeping all of the post that have been made, as well as all of the accounts and so forth. Hopefully, no information will be lost.
The only physical changes you will notice will probably just be the index page was slightly rearranged, and the clan section and forums will look different. They will look like the rest of the site for now, but eventually, I will make it to where you can select styles for the individual clans in the clan section.
Once the new changes are uploaded, the site should run faster. All of the database calls and queries are being switched over to stored procedures. Also, the clan section will be much more robust. You will be able to assign ranks, make a point system that can assign ranks automatically, have better clan forums, and more. I am even working on a signature creator for the clan section so that you can create an image with your information on it.
One of the small downfalls is that you will have to reset your password, as the phpBB password was encrypted differently than how I do encrypting. So I can't just use your old encrypted password in the new system. When the system is switched over, I will send out an e-mail to everyone that is currently a member with a link to reset your password. So make sure you have no-reply@vgt-central.com marked as not spam so that you get the e-mail. Usually, you can just add that address to your address book and it will know not to mark it as spam.
